## Plan the evening
In 2026, the ritual and lantern event runs from August 1 to 16. Lanterns are lit from sunset until 20:00. Foot-dipping reception runs from 09:30 to 20:00, with final entry at 19:40, and costs ¥500.
Arrive before dusk, walk the grounds in daylight, then stay for the lanterns. Use the city bus or Randen to Kitano-Hakubaicho and keep the return journey simple.
