Kyoto Restaurant Reservations, Simply

Book the meals that matter and leave room for local surprises.

You do not need to reserve every meal in Kyoto. You do need to reserve places where the kitchen buys ingredients or prepares a course specifically for you.

Book kaiseki, omakase, tea experiences, tiny destination restaurants, and weekend dinners that you would be disappointed to miss. For casual noodles, curry, cafes, and set-meal shops, flexibility is often more useful.

Choose restaurants near the area you are already visiting. Crossing Kyoto for a viral cafe can consume more time than the meal. Save two or three options in each neighbourhood and check the official website on the day.

Use the booking name exactly as entered, arrive on time, and show the confirmation if language is difficult. If plans change, cancel as early as possible.
